York Rite Freemasonry
There are two branches of Freemasonry which a Master Mason can belong after he completes the three degrees of Symbolic or Blue Lodge Masonry: the York Rite and the Scottish Rite. The York Rite consists of three separate orders: the Royal Arch Masons, Cryptic Masons and the Knights Templar. Florence Chapter No. 61, Royal Arch Masons and Mt. Calvary Commandery No. 1, Knights Templar meet at the Papillion Masonic Center. Omaha Council No. 1, Cryptic Masons meets at the Bellevue Masonic Center. Florence Chapter No. 61 meets on the second Wednesday on the month at 6:30 p.m. Omaha Council No. 1 meets on the third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Calvary Commandery meets on the first Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Scottish Rite
The Scottish Rite is known as “The University of Freemasonry” and supports many charitable causes such as the RiteCare® Childhood Language Program.
Tangier Shrine
Shriners International is probably the best-known Masonic organization. “The Playground of Masonry” supports Shriners Hospitals for Children, a network of 22 hospitals that provide Orthopedic, Burn, Spinal Cord Injury, and Cleft Lip and Palate Treatment to children at no cost. Tangier Shrine in Omaha was established in 1889.
Grand Chapter of Nebraska, Order of the Eastern Star
The Order of the Eastern Star is an organization for Master Masons and their female relatives. There are two O.E.S. Chapters that meet at the Papillion Masonic Center: Papillion Chapter No. 114 meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and Adah Chapter No. 52 meets on the second Friday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
DeMolay Nebraska
DeMolay is a Masonic-sponsored youth organization for boys age 12 to 21.
Nebraska Grand Bethel, Job’s Daughters
Job’s Daughters is a youth organization for girls age 12 to 21 who are related to Master Masons. Papillion is home to Bethel No. 1, which is not only the first Job’s Daughters Bethel in Nebraska but the first in the world. Bethel No. 1 meets on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 2:00 p.m.
International Order of Rainbow for Girls
The International Order of Rainbow for Girls is a Masonic-sponsored youth organization for girls age 11 to 20.
